Winter Sunshine
I struggle sometimes -often, to know whether I'm getting it right or not with my image making. The number of comments for Daisy in Winter kind of shouts 'yes' but how do you feel about this one? Which is better?

excelelnt shot, a dreamy effect. nothing NOt to like about this. well spotted.
Darling,
You post your photographs not to please us. Don't be mislead by the number of comments. One thoughtful remark is worth a bag of "nice crop/good color" ones. Post what you think is worth posting, not what you think will be liked. Though both of the pictures are good, compositionally this one is alive, while the previous one is boringly dead. At the same time, please remember, the judgement of art is extremely subjective, so you are the best judge of your photography.
I like them both but I like Daisy in Winter better! I am not really sure why I like it better.
I, like you struggle to know if things are right but at the end of the day it is your blog and you put what you like on it. in this case I think it is a winner. great soft light. Great work.
I personally prefer today's composition. Well done
Viktor is so right Jose. Don't post what you think people will like.Post what pleases you. If you get a comment that helps you to produce a picture that pleases you more then great. If someone loves you picture and likey's it then enjoy a little glow of pleasure.
This picture I like very much. I enjoy the soft romantic feel to it.
I like the way the comments are going, Jose-Ann. I know exactly how you feel because I often second-guess what I put up. I know what images I really like (of mine) and the ones I'm not sure about. It almost ALWAYS surprises me how the comments may reflect the opposite of what I feel. So, it's its own lesson to go with your own flow. You win some and you lose some.
In THIS case, THIS one is rapturous for me. The ONLY thing I would do to it is clone out the light spot on the side-bottom left. But that's just me. Otherwise it speaks volumes to me.
the blurred blade of grass is what amkes the photo...lovely.
What a delicate image. DOF plays well its role. That's so romantic !
Struggle is one of the pleasures of creativity, no pain no gain! I think you know as well as I do that when it is right you know it is right with out any one telling you. Reinforcement is comforting and rewarding. I think you know that this is the more dynamic composition. The disparate elements, the light patch lower left and the frondy bits top could so easily have been removed but to me they are essential ingredients, forcing the eye to navigate the image rather than resting in one place.
One of the pleasures of blogging is getting the punters to react, it worked Jose, the result, pleasure, I hope.
I prefer the first one Jose,to arty farty this one for me,but thats just my opinion for what its worth.
wow Jose thats extraordinary, love what the light and the blur has done with this image, fantastic stuff indeed
Gorgous
Beautiful image, Jose-Ann.
nice flower shot
Viktor has said it so well and Alistair expands it thoughtfully too- I am certain you know when you have posted a piece of art, like today's lovely piece, when you have posted a good record shot, which is not your most common type, and when you post a possible commercial winner, which you have done on many occasions, so whether you are "getting it right" depends on which "market" you are hoping to satisfy.
Personally, I love your art shots would gladly hang them on my walls at home and only wish I knew how to guarantee their commercial success too, but that is the perennial artist's struggle Alistair alludes to! Have absolutely no fear- you are a star.
that's art. mal
