What a great sky. I missed out on that one...
pixelpixie: Hope you enjoyed your visit to Lytham! No such sky today though!
Great cloud shot! Looks like it's going to rain!
pixelpixie: Thanks Helen, you know it never did rain on me that day!
Echoing what the others have said, I love it with all that wonderful sky.
pixelpixie: Thanks very much Michael. It was the sunlit boats under all that cloud that caught my eye.
Impressive and well seen - These boats seems so fragile against the stormy sky !!
pixelpixie: Hi Zeb, they did indeed look very fragile. Thanks for dropping in.
love the sky jose.
pixelpixie: Thanks Mick, no such sky today though!
This is great.
pixelpixie: Thanks very much Bill. I'm delighted!
Wow, look at that `big` sky. I really reminds you of how these boats are really at the mercy of the elements. Thankfully, the sea is calm, on this day. Love the light catching the boats, too. (:o)
pixelpixie: Thanks Rosalyn. It was the light catching the boats that caught my attention.
It's a magnificent crop, Jose-Ann! I am such a fan of stormy skies like this, as you probably already know.
pixelpixie: Thanks Ginnie, can never tire of the changing sky, it always fascinates me.
Great use of space and sky. That tiny stream of yellow dipping down on the boats and water is heavenly.
pixelpixie: Thanks Kathryn, that's just how I felt about the light that day and it never did rain on me!
Woah! A welcome return and right back into your stride! Classic Jose crop/horizon, and Zeb has said exactly what I would have. Lovely.
pixelpixie: Thank-you David. I keep on doing it don't I
STUNNING!! definitly A LIKEY!! the composition, the detail is the clouds, I can't sum it all up, the more i look the more impressed I am, a likey's likey.
pixelpixie: Gosh thanks Patrick, I so pleased you like this. I never tire of the sky.
Great composition. Very impressive sky. I like the boats/skyline
pixelpixie: Thanks very much Richard.
Lovin' the big sky
pixelpixie: Cheers Chris. Where are you in space, do you know yet
excellent skyscape...
pixelpixie: Thanks sam, thanks for popping in.
I love it when the subject occupies aout 1% of the frame and it works as well as this does
pixelpixie: Lol what a lovely comment!
Thinking about it, I think it works because it puts into context the power of the elements over man - but the image says it so much better.
Great use of empty space in the sky, it was difficult to tell what this was from the thumbnail. I did not know that Lytham had any fishing boats, you live and learn.
pixelpixie: Thanks Les. I love 'empty space'. I think these are shrimping boats but because I wasn't sure, I thought I should just say fishing. There aren't normally as many as this but you can find them up towards Fairlawns, going out of Lytham towards Fairhaven.
It's been said already, this is impressive .. .sky, clouds, silhouettes on land and those tiny little boats. Good one Jose
pixelpixie: Thank-you Ellie. It was nice to have this one up, the weather here at the moment is very wet, grey and grim.
very cool compo Jose. So what did God say to you after he opened the clouds? mal
pixelpixie: Lol, he said, "Jose, when are you going to learn how to take a good photo, Peter will be meeting you at he gates before you figure it out!"
A dramatic view of a familiar location, the drama is accentuated by the low view point and the sun catching the boats.
pixelpixie: It gets harder and harder to get something different when you walk the same stretch everyday but the light was particularly nice on this day. Shot it from the Jetty. Just happened to turn around and the sun broke through and lit up the boats.
love big skies. just waiting for the monty python boot to appear from this one.
pixelpixie: Now that I've just go to try and photoshop in!
