Harebell Triptych
Throughout this series of flowers (it was the first Sea Campion
image that started me off), my pre-occupation has been with mood rather than depicting the
flower itself. I wanted to try to bring more than just our visual perception
into play. The beginnings of this triptych lay in the star shape of
the calyx; one on its own didn't emphasise it but repeating it
makes more of a statement about it. I couldn't find two more to go with the original one I started out with so these I took this afternoon and with the weather back
to its default, overcast state, the images came out like the
very first Harebell shot. I hope also, it gives more of a sense of
the gentle sea breeze but you must tell me whether it works or not.
Oh, and I slipped up with the colour profile. I forgot to change the images to Adobe(1998) RGB and did my raw file adjustments in sRGB IEC61966-2.1 - the camera's default. It makes a significant difference and then I was in a dilemma as to which to go for, ending up assigning my usual so the colours are more saturated than I originally intended.

Exceptional, your handling of the sharpness in these images is impressive.
So beautiful shots. I totally agree with Bisola- really hard to believe they were not captured on the same day!
I think they work really well as a triptych. Like all the others, the colours are divine and I really like the way you have processed them. Well done
Ingrid
this is an excellent set of shots that you've captured.
for me it does convey a mood of a lazy, gentle sea-breeze the colours work really well to complement the mood I like the middle composition more than the others, something about the randomness of the crossing stalks helps convey the mood?
