Barra: A little series of images # 9
Trăigh Elias again but from the wave washed, wet sand.

I think the sky and sand have become one, Jose-Ann. What a sublime marriage!
pixelpixie: Lol, wish I could find such harmony!
The shine of the water reflecting the sky is just beautiful.
pixelpixie: Thank-you Kathryn, it was on such a huge scale too, the reality was even more spectacular.
gorgeous tones to this Jose, beautiful image
pixelpixie: Thanks tim, just as shot too.
My sort of photo.. love it. I love the sivery lighting. Excellent.
pixelpixie: I think you would be very at home in the Outer Hebrides Gale.
Really like this one - very simple & very exposed, the mirror-effect of the water is great.
pixelpixie: Thank-you, it was so spectacular. The force of the big waves pushed the water far up the beach and they were coming in on top of each other so that it stayed like this for a long time.
Excellent Jose - that water looks like glass.
pixelpixie: It did. I was just saying to your other half that that the force of the big waves pushed the water far up the beach and they were coming in on top of each other so that it stayed like this for a long time.
cracking shot jose, this makes me want to go on holiday.
pixelpixie: Lol, did you check out the Barra website on today's blog? Booked yet
Instant likey
pixelpixie: Cheers Chris, thank-you!
Absolutely sublime! Fantastic tones and magical light. (:o)
pixelpixie: Wow, thank-you, what can I say!
Sublime image, great atmosphere and lighting but it is the stark contrast that really makes the image.
pixelpixie: Thanks again Alistair. It's hard to instill the essence of a place in a photograph I think but this goes some way towards capturing that beach on that day.
This would look good hung on the wall
pixelpixie: Lol, I've got some frames waiting for something but then I can't decide which or what to put in them!
I really do like these backlit, (is it contre-jour?) pictures. The light does something quite magical to water, makes it look like molten metal - and I say that whenever I see a picture like this because it's the only way I can describe it.
This one looks like quicksilver - pure, glistening mercury.
pixelpixie: Contre-jour yes. It was quite magical on the beach, the waves were coming in fast and reaching far up the beach, It was like one gigantic mirror.
Fantastic
pixelpixie: You love the water don't you!!
Oi! Off the moody seascapes, that's my job! lol.
very very nice work Pixie. mal
pixelpixie: Does that mean this one is a hit then
Not like you to have the horizon so near normal, golden rule position!
Lovely image using blocks of tone and texture to convey this particular atmosphere so well.
pixelpixie: Ha, drat I conformed to a rule!
Wonderful - this makes me want to go there right now! I particularly like the little patterns made by the incoming waves.
Ingrid
pixelpixie: Thanks! Barra's beaches are amazing without doubt.
Gorgeous photo, Jose...I can see so many varying sorts of symmetries. I love the touch of blue on the right of the photo...looks stunning against the warmer tones.
pixelpixie: I like that bit too. It was spectacular, the whole beach seemed to be a gigantic mirror at one point.
A difficult shot well handled. Has captured the remote and isolated atmosphere well. A little more detail in the hillside would lift the shot. Should be possible in P/Shop.
A good shot Jose.
pixelpixie: Thanks Ron. I was shooting into the sun so I don't think I'd be able to lift anything in Photoshop even though it was a raw file - I end up with a very burnt out patch where it's brightest on the beach.
Very beautiful. I love how simple this shot is to take in visually.
pixelpixie: Thank-you Jewlya, Barra is a secret gem!
magical Jose - a definite likey
pixelpixie: Thank-you! I like being likeyed!
Classic. Beautiful framing.
