Looking at this makes me want to go to Barra.
pixelpixie: You should! I'm sure you would love it. Have you been to the Outer Hebrides at all?
gorgeous minimalist lovelyness, with a sea squawl comming in to. The hebridean water looks like some jamaican paradise but I would not want to swim in it! I might loose something! lol mal
pixelpixie: Just wish I could have done a sound accompaniment to go with this one; the sound of the water was totally soothing. There was a warm wind that evening but, lol, you're spot on about the water temperature!
Absolutely stunning! I want to be there right now! (:o)
pixelpixie: Thanks Roz. I guess right now it's freezing cold on that beach! Still beautiful though.
Could be the Maldives! Very serene scene, lovely Jose.
pixelpixie: Lol, slight temperature difference though! It was serene. So quiet - no jets from BAE to disturb one's thoughts!
Another lovely shot in this series Jose.
pixelpixie: Thank-you Bill. I came away thinking I hadn't taken anything worthwhile so your comment is most appreciated.
Oooh! less is more- very evocative, and "tells the story" of the clean pollution-free environment there beautifully. I can't believe you lugged a tripod all the way there!
pixelpixie: I did lug a tripod all the way up there! Did I use it? Once! And that was when I was trying to get 'the shot' of the Cocklestrand which I ended up abandoning because of the fast approaching tide!
super stuff Jose, love the composition that high horizon works great
pixelpixie: Thanks Tim. Lol, I don't do thirds as a rule!
Wonderful Jose the colors and depth are amazing ! Bravo !
pixelpixie: Thank-you so much Zeb. The water really does look like this too.
The water looks almost glacial, isn't it amazingly pale - or did you do something?
It looks lovely
pixelpixie: The water is just like this, especially where there are huge expanses of white sand as on this beach. It's the fine white sand particles that give it the look of glacial water - same effect. It was this image by Artographer that brought about our little holiday on Barra. We didn't enjoy the same sunny weather as it was the end of October but even so, we were so struck by the Island's beauty, we plan to go again in summertime.

The colors are like a watercolor painting, Jose-Ann!
pixelpixie: Thanks Ginnie. The beaches there are just amazing - no need to go all the way to the Caribbean!
I agree with mal, I thought you had nipped south for this one, really like the simpleness
pixelpixie: Only need to go to the Outer Hebrides to have 'Caribbean' beaches all to oneself - lol, so long as you wear a wet suit in the water!
Lovely colours -I too thought this was some tropical hideaway! Nice composition with the high horizon.
pixelpixie: Definitely a hideaway but not with tropical temperatures. The wind was lovely and warm though. Guess it isn't now though!
Stunning.. looks so peaceful. My type of shot.. love the open spaces.
pixelpixie: Hi Gale, thanks for visiting. We're obviously of the same mind! I can't wait to get back up there.
Fantastic in it's simplicity. Can I see film grain, rather than digital pixels?
pixelpixie: Hi there! I took the Mamiya with me but hardly used it sadly. This was a digital raw file and I did process it a bit hence the noise though the colour of the water is true. Pleased you like it. I'm going again in the summer and hope to do loads on the Mamiya next time round.
