Barra: A little series of images # 4
Reul na Mara, the name of the boat, means 'Star of the Ocean'. It is a traditional Barra fishing boat. This was the beginning of a walk after the long day of being held captive by the rain. Dusk was falling as we set off for Trãigh Sgùrabhal and a walk along the beautiful sands. We ended that walk in torchlight, ever conscious of the waves lapping gently but confidently in.

Great composition Jose, I do like picture of boats on beaches and this is a good one.
This is a great photo. I think it would make a great painting!
Beautiful. The straining ropes add a real strength to the shot. Terrific composition.
Oh yeah, look at this naughty playful light incline. She's a coquette, this Reul na Mara!
It IS a painting, Jose-Ann. I immediately thought of Winslow Homer! The color tones are wonderfully muted and soft.
Lovely tones, shapes and lines and a balanced, peaceful air about it. Like others here, it reminds me of a painting style- in my case, Albert Sisley, one of my favourite Impressionists.
i like this Jose, the island looks a wonderful place for photographers.
Even though the sky seems so heavy and dark with clouds, the lighting on the grass, rocks, and sand gives such depth to the image. The boat almost seems to sway with the ocean. Perhaps due to the framing and the tightness and slack of the ropes. Excellent, Jose!
Excellent composition. The lighting and the colours create such an atmosphere
Although the skies look heavy they have a definite glow which has imparted this photograph with a eerie hue the considered view point and composition add up to a powerful image.
I could just see John Lowrie Morrison getting his paintbrush stuck into this image.
Jose this is stunning. Got to be a likey. I want to drool over it later
Very poetic photo ... I like it !!!
Like the low viewpoint Jose, looks lovely and quiet there.
I agree with Helen, would make a great painting.

Classic composition with pleasing water-colour wash.

Been a few more times to look at the picture. I think I'll add it to my likeys. I suspect you used the secret PS magnet filter...
