Barra: A little series of images # 12
Ardmhor, Crannag.
Well, we've come full circle and ended at the place where I started this little series, Traigh Mhor, from where we viewed it every morning; that's our holiday cottage to the right at Crannag. You can make out the Air Terminal at the edge of the beach in the far distance, slightly to the right of the cottage on the left and we not only watched the tide come in and go out but the planes also. Theres a link to the holiday cottage on the Barra website called Crannag. There's lots more to learn about Barra there too.

Magic Jose, when is the best time to go.
pixelpixie: Anytime between May and September I would think. Artographer would be able to tell you better though.
This has been a lovely series of pictures Jose..thank you
pixelpixie: Thank-you Bill. I've one more and a couple of accidents I thought I would post
superb photo Jose, really will have to get one of those wide angles, its done wonders for this scene
pixelpixie: Glad you like it Tim. The trouble with 12mm is the distortion it creates. I've tried to straigten up the cottage as it was rather skewed and there's a bit of a curve on the horizon too.
Great scape shot with clarity and vibrant blue sky.
pixelpixie: Thanks Tracy. This vibrant blue sky just happened this once - on the day we were leaving!
Amazing view - I love the positioning of the boat and the bright red roof contrasting with the sky.
Ingrid
pixelpixie: I should have known you would like the red roof!
Lovely scene which seems to go on forever.
That's a nice little lens you have there.
such a big sky! I want to go there
This is so typically Scottish, Jose. It reminds me of a visit to Tiree.
This really does make one want to be there and not at home during these dark winer evenings. Lovely picture.
Now that's a fine view to have from your front door
A beautiful view Jose, well seen.
Jose, this has been a marvellous series
I must have been asleep for 24 hours! Sorry I missed this, especially as it is so good, with all your trademark content! That looks a great place to rent. Didn't know you had a 12mm- I'm lusting after the 12-60 for mine but it's awfully dear! LOL
pixelpixie: Well it was seeing some of Mad Max's images and the fact that I realised I had a huge problem with this friend's wedding I'd agreed to shoot with low light and space that I took the plunge and got the Nikon 12-24mm lens. And what a beauty! Lots of distortion at the 12mm end though.
I also love the expanse of the sky with the wind blown cloud.
certainly sells the place very well. You must have had a great time...relaxing too no doubt. Really a lovely shot Jose. SC has sure expanded my list of holiday spots to go to!
pixelpixie: Thanks liam. You should get yourself up there for a break if you've got the chance. Well worth it.
lovely shot
pixelpixie: Cheers deji - sorry for not replying sooner!
Love the shot! I really like how the boat is lined up between the two buildings.
pixelpixie: Thanks very much Jason and thanks for visiting. Sorry to have taken so long to rely!
Magical! A cracking view!
pixelpixie: Hi! This is the cottage we stayed at - to the right of the image. We could watch the aircraft land and take off on the beach. You'll have to go back!
