Great light Jose and the figures add an extra dimension, well seen.
pixelpixie: Lol, they were the only figures we saw on that beach all day long.
Lighting is wonderful, and I like the way it fades into the background at the left.
pixelpixie: Thanks Red Pen, the light was great that day. I suppose it must be the light reflecting off the sea that brightened the image to the right.
Superb use of the light. This is a very beautiful and atmospheric capture. (:o)
pixelpixie: Thanks Roz, shooting into the sun can create quite a different scene.
WOW, I just love the quality of the blacks in this photograph and the way the highlights appear to bleed into the shadows. Succulently atmospheric. The human and animal forms set the scale and the scene.
pixelpixie: Well Alistair, I did bump up the black a little. I wouldn't have done if I hadn't got a little bit of a magenta cast on the edges of the zig zaggy white, wet sand. Got fiddling in Selective colour to eliminate that and carried on playing - conservatively though. I was lucky with the figures, I had become used to us being he only people on the beaches.
Another one with Glorious light.. I love this type of photo. Great capture
pixelpixie: Thanks so much Gale, I love your beach photos.
Great lighting - well spotted.
pixelpixie: Thank-you Bernie, just a lucky moment, there was only one other time when someone else was on a beach we were inhabiting. It was so strange to come back to the populated North-West of England.
Lovely light, especially that haze in the background near the figures. Figures on the beach always give such a wonderful sense of scale.
Ingrid
pixelpixie: Thanks Ingrid. The light was fabulous that afternoon. Figures on Barra beaches are rare at this time of year!
This is superb Jose
I'm a huge fan of this sort of picture, so whenever I see them I almost drool. Embarrassing, isn't it?
pixelpixie: Really pleased you like it Ellie. I've very selfishly posted these Barra pics so that I can keep reliving being on those beaches
Beautiful shot Jose. The figures are a perfect touch
pixelpixie: Cheers Bill. The figures were a lucky thing. They are so rare up there!
what a beautifuil light....
pixelpixie: Thank-you Nicola!
Wow this is really great lighting and I totally agree with the figures adding that special something to this image.
pixelpixie: Thank-you Scarlet, the sun was really kind that day and the figures just appeared from nowhere.
hi pixelpixie...this is wondeful. Such lovely early morning light! Looks very similar to where i stay. I never get sick of these scenes. Reminds me that the world is actually peaceful...just us humans that are messing it up!
I saw your comment on the panachallenge...I see you use a nikon, but also have a panny...why on earth have you not entered a pic into the challenge? Your shots are superb!
pixelpixie: Thanks Liam, glad you like it.
The silver lining is not only in the clouds, Jose-Ann! You've proved that once again.
stunning scene superbly captured
This is wonderfully soft and dreamy.
Very dramatic scene: wonderful light!
pixelpixie: Thank-you Chris, the light was wonderful that afternoon. It was luck that these three figures appeared with dog. All week we had the beaches completely to ourselves.
I must get onto broadband as soon as possible because this pic is taking an age to download on my creaky dialup system, but I've read all the comments and it must be a fabulous one!
Ah - it's just come through and WOW it is! Isn't it magical the way light turns the water to silver?
pixelpixie: Lol, I thought folk might say it's a shame I've burnt out areas of the image! Really pleased you like it Penny.
