What I have been after these last few flower posts is a kind of essence of the summer weather at play with the wild flowers in the dunes. I discovered this stretch of dunes for the first time this year walking my dog. What I wanted to have for myself were images that I could turn to in the winter months when it's bleak and grey, cold, wet and windy; when the dog and me go out whatever the weather.
It is a bit like looking at the flower through eyes full of tears, or summat...maybe? I'll get me coat.
pixelpixie: You don't know how near the truth you are! Well, my dog was speyed last Tuesday and she's been in agony since and yesterday I was so tearful because I keep taking her back to the Vet and getting nowhere. Last night they kept her in on a drip and now I'm still waiting to hear what they are going to do for her. I was trying to distract myself last night, couldn't decide what to post and I was looking at all my images pretty much as you have described!
It's like an oil painting as seen through a heavy rain, Jose Ann. I hope your dog--and YOU--weather the storm!
pixelpixie: Oh thank-you Ginnie. I've just had a phone call from the Vet to say that they think she may be reacting severely to the suture material they have used for the ligaments inside. They have her comfortable now but it seems they will need to operate again tomorrow to replace them with something else. They are waiting for blood test results at the moment. Poor thing, she's so sweet, I feel awful she's being put through this.
Another beautiful image - at first sight I thought it was a painting and see that others have had that reaction. It is quite different to your others but just as lovely in a different way. Hope your dog feels better tomorrow.
