Scars
We all carry them - hidden away.
So sorry for going AWOL. Many, many thanks to those of you who have sent messages, all so appreciated. Trying to get back into it again.

Welcome back Jose - I often wondered where you were. This is a powerfully symbolic image. We all carry scars, even if they seem to heal on the outside. I hope yours are not too deep. Photography can help - I know this.
Ingrid
Jose Shackleton: Thanks Ingrid, your words are very much appreciated.
You're back. Ooophhhhh. We love you with or without scars, dear. Scars on the body, those are the easy ones. Scars on the soul heal oh-so much longer.

Jose Shackleton: You are so kind Viktor.
Hello again- we here have the balm for you, and I reckon getting the Mamiya out on some tricky assignment will soothe too.
Jose Shackleton: Yes, I need to get shooting again. The urge coming back again.
Quite a scarey image Jose, especially in the light of recent events in Austria with the family that were kept locked away for twenty odd years. I wonder what scars they will bear for ever?
Jose Shackleton: I was dumbstruck when I read about that. Makes my situation seem like nothing at all.
Goodness me that's a strong image Jose. Hang in there. Welcome back, looking forward to seeing more of your work.
Jose Shackleton: Thanks Alistair. It certainly got a lot of hits but perhaps wasn't what a lot of viewers thought it was!
Very strong image, and harsh lighting what did yo uuse Jose, and of course welcome back.
Jose Shackleton: Thank-you Nigel. It was a polaroid to test the lighting for series of ideas I was trying out a while back. The 'scars' were made pulling the back off. It was just appropriate for the time I'm going through lately.
Very powerful. I like the harsh lighting ... it adds to the power of the image.
Jose Shackleton: Thanks Helen, thanks for visiting.
I agree with Ingrid, Jose welcome back
Jose Shackleton: Hi Tracy, thank-you, you're very kind.
Lovely to see you back again Jose. I hope the scars heal and the sun shines in your pictures
Jose Shackleton: Thanks Bill. Time is all it needs - lots of time and maybe things might take an unexpected turn and the sun will really shine then for me. Time will tell.
great to see you again. An image with a message. mal
Jose Shackleton: Thanks Mal. I have to smile when I see this - it's a polaroid and the 'scars' came about when I pulled the back off.
Powerful image Jose.
Jose Shackleton: Thanks Chris.
oh thats so clever Jose, superb image for sure fella
Jose Shackleton: Thank-you Tim. Do you think I'm a bloke?
Good to have you back, this looks painful, but time is a great healer.
Jose Shackleton: Felt good to post something at long last. Time will do it.
Welcome back, Jose. Sudocrem & a large bourbon should sort this little lot out...
Jose Shackleton: Thanks Dave. Mmmmm sudocrem...
Welcome back indeed, Jose-Ann. I've missed you. Have you ever noticed that some scars become beauty marks, especially on the face? I have always found that to be a soulful thing....
You sound as though you've had a rough time Jose although I didn't pick up on that earlier on and don't know what your problem's been. All I can say is that the Shutterchance cyber network has given me a clear focus and strong support in dealing with and (hopefully) recovering from the cancer I had last summer. Hope it works for you!
interesting shot.
Jose Shackleton: Thank-you Chichi and thanks for your visit.
Welcome back Jose: scars are everywhere - on the body, in the mind, over the landscape. Great image!
Jose Shackleton: Thanks Chris. You're so right about the landscape, You've helped to give me a broader perspective! Just need to post another image now
healing is a process and scars serve a purpose in that process--take care that the scars don't become hard and callus
